Why we like it

• A comfortable hotel with a stunning view of the lake
• The new Adirondack wing, in particular, is newly furnished with a rustic-contemporary look
• The breakfast buffet, while not included, is great. Try the omelet bar
• It cannot be overstated how great the view is from lake-facing rooms
• The fire in the great room and the outdoor fire pit are perfect for warming up after a day skiing
• A shuttle will take you to a private beach on the other side of the lake, which is awesome

Tips

• Staff are on point, but can get overwhelmed
• The property is on a steep hill, the walk to it can be hard
• The pool and hot tub are relaxing and well kept
• A fitness center is available for guest use, as are laundry facilities
• The older wing has been renovated as well, but isn't quite as nice as the Adirondack wing

Location

This property sits in a commanding position atop a large hill overlooking the lake. It is about a quarter mile to the major in-town attractions if you are willing to face the steep climb back up the hill. Alternatively, you can use the property shuttle to avoid some of the elevation-related woes. Whiteface is less than half an hour away by car.

• Distance to Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort ski access: 10 miles
• Within walking distance: The lake is just down the hill, along with all the lakefront shops and restaurants. Downtown is about a fifteen-minute walk away and has even more options.
• Transportation: There is a property shuttle to take you to the private beach or select in-town destinations. For access to the resort, it would be a good idea to bring a car
